This post is sponsored by Grammarly. I used Grammarly to grammar check this post, because, while I am an award-winning author now, I am still not nearly wealthy enough to afford a full-time copy editor. And, let’s face it, I need one.
So I received a fun email on Friday last week. It seems that Love at the Speed of Email was chosen as an Honorable Mention in the Life Stories category of the 21st Annual Writer’s Digest Self-Published Book Awards.
The Writer’s Digest Self-Published Book Awards honor exemplary self-publishing. I don’t know how many people entered this year (books published between 2008 and 2013 are eligible), but a couple of years ago they reported about 1800 entrants in the nine categories.
Writer’s Digest awards one first place and a handful of honorable mentions in each category, so I’m thrilled that Love At The Speed Of Email has received this recognition.
So is Dominic – it’s still his favorite book. Well, right alongside The Hungry Caterpillar.
Thanks to all of you who’ve purchased Love at the Speed of Email, read it, reviewed it on Amazon and other places, and are making it a “slow but steady” success in terms of sales. One of these days fairly soon, I even expect to have earned back all the money I spent publishing it :). When that happens I’m going to award myself the coveted “Break Even” award, and spend the next $30 it earns buying champagne.
Hope you’re all having a good week.
Cheers,
lisa
PS If you’ve read and enjoyed Love At The Speed Of Email (or any of my other books) and haven’t already left a brief review on Amazon, Goodreads, or another forum, please consider doing that. Those reviews are incredibly valuable to authors.
