Happy Monday morning folks. It’s 5:30am here, I’m saluting the dawn as I have almost every day for the past four months, by feeding a little one. So in honour of early morning wakings here are some beautiful words from the Quran to kick off a fresh new week:
Listen to the exhortation of the dawn.
Look to this day, for it is life, the very life of life.
In its brief course lie all the verities and realities
of your existence,
the glory of action – the bliss of growth
the splendour of beauty.
For yesterday is but a dream,
and tomorrow is only a vision,
but today, well lived,
makes every yesterday a dream of happiness,
and every tomorrow a vision of hope.
Look well therefore to this day.
Such is the salutation of the dawn.
We had a great weekend over here – the kind that make dreams of happiness. Here are a couple of pictures of what we’ve been up to recently.
What about you? How do you salute the dawn? Have you read words recently that have stirred your heart?

Loved all of it!!! Thanks for sharing. Amazing photos.
Thanks Bobbie. Yeah, it’s not quite snowing, but there are silver linings to that 🙂
Those words from the Quran were balm to my heart today. Especially these lines:
“Today, well lived,
makes every yesterday a dream of happiness,
and every tomorrow a vision of hope.”
Thank you.
Isn’t it a cool piece!! I particularly loved the line about growth at the moment. Glad it spoke to you.
Beautiful Lisa…the words uplifting…the photos of Dominic a true inspiration and joy. Is he just too adorable!!! Oui! Merry Christmas…
Thanks, and to you and yours, too!
I think I just saw you and your family on this timelapse video. Looks like you guys were about to buy some foods at the night market.

I watched that vid, pretty cool! I can totally see why you thought it was us – even I had to do a double take on the woman to make SURE it wasn’t me, but it’s not. And that’s definitely not Mike as we don’t have an outward facing baby sling. Good guess, though.
Ooopss!!! Sorry.. I just saw the video once and didn’t really pause to really confirm is you guys.
Oh, no prob at all. It was interesting to watch. Laos really is a beautiful country, isn’t it.
