Tahlia: “Dominic, this is how you do it. Sit still and smile nicely for the camera.”
Dominic: “Say what?”
Mama: “Dominic, here, I’ll give you a piece of sour candy if you stand still and kiss your baby brother nicely.”
Dominic: “SOUR candy? What the hell? Are you trying to poison me? Why would you do that?”
Nana: “OK, Dominic, how about some marshmallow? Will you kiss Alex for some marshmallow?”
Dominic: “I’ll consider it after I sample the goods.”
Dominic: “THAT’s what I’m talking about. Now, who needs to be kissed?”
Nana: “Good job, now … again?”
Dominic: “I’m going to need more marshmallows”
Dominic: “I know Auntie Michelle bought us matching outfits all the way from America just for this photo shoot, but I think this photo would be better if I were naked.”
Dominic: “It’s going to cost you candy if you want me to keep my clothes on.”
Dominic: “I think this photo would be better if Alex weren’t in it.”
Dominic: “Fine, fine, I’ll unwrap him and kiss him nicely. For a price. Nana? Pony up.”

All the kids are so cute that really they could do anything and it would be a great pic. Thanks for sharing these!
My pleasure. Mike’s the photographer of our family – most of these are due to him.
Precious! I highly endorse bribing children with candy and chocolate and promises of tv to get them to “perform” for these treasured memories!!
Your photos are amazing!! Maybe pinterest has something going for it as a source of inspiration after all. 🙂
Awesome! Congratulations, again!
We have a photo of a couple, their six great-grandchildren (under six years old), and three grandchildren/moms who had to jump in the photo to keep their kids in the frame. Everyone is either crying or laughing. It is one of our favorites! 🙂
Thanks. Yeah, those candid shots are awesome when they work!!
Somehow your blog disappeared from my blog reader. And then google reader went away anyways, but I’m much further behind than that, apparently. So, I just spent a while getting caught up on your life and making your feed work with my Feedly account.
Good to read your words again! I love your humor and perspective on life. Congratulations on #2 – mine is due in a month and a half.
I was so excited when I saw a month or two ago that you were pregnant when I was catching up on my own feed but I couldn’t leave a comment!! Blogger hates me for some reason. Really hope this last six weeks go well, it’s not a fun period. And loved your post about loving a little boy. I, too, am enjoying watching the words come, although enjoying less how often one of those words is “no”.
We spent a couple hundred dollars trying to get cousin photos–all disasters. I should have bought marshmallows!
Yes, I’m very quickly learning what a potent bribe sugar is!
